Tuesday, 9 July 2013
The summer edition of the Emanations Festival 2013, as part of which 80 concerts and opera performances are planned in celebration of Krzysztof Penderecki’s 80th birthday, began on 5 July. The Emanations Quartet performed during the last weekend. The quartet is formed by Łukasz Kuropaczewski (guitar), Maciej Frąckiewicz (bandoneon), laureate of Polityka’s Passports 2012, Joanna Wronko (violin) and Karolina Jaroszewska (cello). Beginning Friday, the artists performed in Małopolska’s beautiful venues: at the Castle in Nowy Wiśnicz, at the European Centre for Music in Lusławice, and at the Suski Castle in Sucha Beskidzka. The programme of the concerts included works by Giuliani, de Falla, Albéniz, Bartók, Gismonti and Piazzola. Members of the Emanations Quartet are represented by the Ludwig van Beethoven Association.
