Agata Szymczewska and Krzysztof Penderecki in Stockholm’s famous Berwaldhallen

Agata Szymczewska, a consummate Polish violinist, winner of the 1st Prize in latest Henryk Wieniawski Competition, will perform the Violin concerto No. 1 by Karol Szymanowski at the prestigious Berwaldhallen in Stockholm at 7:30pm on 26th August.
The artist will perform together with the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra conducted by maestro Krzysztof Penderecki. The concert is a part of the 6th Östersjöfestival 2008 (The Baltic Sea Festival) and will be transmitted live by Swedish Radio.
The festival gathers eminent artists from the countries lying by the Baltic Sea; this year’s guests include Daniel Barenboim, Mischa Maisky, and Valery Gergiev.
Berwaldhallen, together with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Choir, is one of the most important institutions of culture of the Kingdom of Sweden. Thanks to the cooperation with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the concerts held at Berwaldhallen are broadcasted by European radios, which acquires them millions of listeners.
