Perfect technique and great emotions: Anne-Sophie Mutter beyond doubt belongs among the greatest virtuosos of the violin, and has been one for the last 30 years. Thanks to her consummate discipline and uncommon musicality, Anne-Sophie Mutter has won all the major awards and sold millions of CDs. Now, she has been awarded the international Ernst von Siemens Music Prize with cash endowment of € 200,000 for her artistic achievements. This is the world’s most important award that a performer of classical music may receive. On 24th April, the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts, conferred to the artist during the ceremony at Muenchner Kammerspiele. With this Nobel Prize of classical music, Anne-Sophie Mutter stands on a par with Gidon Kremer and Yehudi Menuhin, who received this award in 1982 and 1984 respectively.
