ROYAL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA – 5th June in Łódź

One of the best European orchestras, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, will perform during its sole concert in Poland, on 5 June 2008 at 7 p.m. at the concert hall of the Łodź Philharmonic. The orchestra, which holds the title of a royal orchestra, will play Johannes Brahm’s Tragic Ouverture and Symphony No. 1 in C-minor, and Maurice Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G-major. The musicians will be led by a young and talented conductor, John Axelrod, music director of Luzerner Sinfonie Orchester und Theater, and first visiting conductor of Sinfonietta Cracovia. The soloist, Markus Schirmer, is an eminent Austrian pianist, who has performed all over the world. This evening cannot be missed – it’s a musical feast of the highest quality – Andrzej Sułek, director general of the Łódź Philharmonic, praises the event. It is an offer for connoisseurs but also for those who want to start their adventure with music by meeting the masters.
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will perform in Łódź thanks to its cooperation with the Ludwig van Beethoven Association.
