Golden Thought for Elżbieta Penderecka

Elżbieta Penderecka was presented with the “Golden Thought” (Złota Myśl) award from the “Science and Health” (Nauka i Zdrowie) Foundation. Elżbieta Penderecka received the award for her contribution to the development of Polish science and culture. The ceremony was held on 21st February at Kraków Philharmonic Hall.
The Award Committee is composed of Professor Jacek Majchrowski, Professor Jerzy Stuhr (Chairman), Professor Jerzy Sadowski, Grażyna Brodzińska, Krzesimir Dębski, and Roman Kluska.
The foundation’s main goal is to build bridges of tolerance and social integration, especially towards the disabled, and also transformation of negative emotions and aggression, so common today among the young, into positive attitudes expressed and developed through music, theatre, and broad variety of art. Moreover, the Foundation supports and promotes Polish culture and science. In the five years of its history, the foundation can boast the organisation of numerous significant and broadly discussed events with participation of many famous and highly respected personalities.
Fulfilling its statutory goats, the Foundation deals also with the promotion of health, supporting the disabled, and finds artistically talented young people. It cooperates with the Ludwik Solski State Drama School in Kraków and the Kraków Young Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Tomasz Chmiel.
The mainstay of the concerts organised by the Foundation is Ms Grażyna Brodzińska, who supports the charitable activity with her vast artistic and moral authority.
