Fabio Armiliato
Fabio Armiliato, a prize-winner in the Concorso Internazionale Tito Schipa in Lecce and in the Concorso Internazionale Pavia Lirica, made his debut in 1984 playing the character of Adorno in Verdi's Simon Boccanegra and went on to an international, fast-moving career, bringing him to play the most important tenor roles. In the following years, he made his debut in Parma, Zürich, Rome, Stuttgart, Palermo, Jerusalem, Frankfurt, Antwerp, Marseille, Montpellier, Paris and in 1993 in the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Since that time all the prominent opera houses all over the world have been open to him. He is particularly valued for his performances of operas by Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Boito, Mascagni, Giordano, Bellini. He has cooperated with outstanding conductors and directors.
He began his 2008/09 season with the role of Don Carlos in Drezden, followed by Cavalleria Rusticana in Florence, Puccini celebration at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, where he appeared alongside Daniela Dessì, in Trieste he played the leading role of Cavaradossi in Tosca, and later appeared in Palermo, Seville, Warszawa, Hannover, Rome and Verona.
