Beata Bilińska
Beata Bilińska was born in Kraków. She is one of the greatest Polish pianists of her generation. For sixteen years she has been an active performer giving concerts, solo recitals and chamber music concerts in Poland and abroad. Presently she also gives numerous master classes all over the world. She performed in Austria, Argentina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, France, Ireland, Japan, Germany, Norway, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden, the USA and Italy.
She graduated with honors from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, in the class of Prof. Andrzej Jasiński. After the graduation, for six years she was an assistant of Prof. Jasiński. Presently she is assistant professor at her alma mater. She mastered her skills at Hochschule der Kunste in Berlin with Prof. Klaus Hellwig and took part in master classes, working with distinguished artists such as Lee Kum Sing and John Perry. She also consulted Krystian Zimerman.
As laureate of the 1st prize and Audience prize at the 17th International Piano Competition "Rina Sala Gallo" in Monza, Italy, she performed at numerous prestigious festivals in Poland and abroad: three times at the International Chopin Festival in Duszniki Zdrój, Polish Piano Festival in Słupsk, International Piano Forum in Wrocław, International Preistrager – Junge Meister Interpreten in Landshud (Germany), Festival du Vigan in Paris as well as at international festivals in Ireland, Italy and Argentina. In 2003 she made her debut at Carnegie Hall, at Isaac Stern Auditorium in New York. Her discography covers solo recordings of Rachmaninoff and Chopin, works for violin and piano by 20th century Polish composers and Krzysztof Penderecki Piano Concerto “Resurrection” recorded with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by the composer.
Beata Bilińska was twice nominated for Paszport Polityki Award and twice for Fryderyk Award. She received Pizzicato Supersonic Award in Luxembourg for the recording featuring music for violin and piano. Her last CD with the “Resurrection” Piano Concerto won numerous prizes: Les Crescendo Joker Award in Belgium, Pizzicato Supersonic Award in Luxembourg, Scherzo Award in Madrid and Musica Award in Rome, as well as the most prestigious phonographic distinction, MIDEM Classical Award 2008.
