Born in Bari (Italy) in 1975, she was awarded a diploma in singing with top marks and honours at the “N. Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari under the guidance of Professor K. Angeloni.
She made her debut in Bari with Carmina Burana and Nozze Per Puntiglio, followed by the role of Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte at the Piccolo Teatro of Milan produced by Giorgio Strehler; subsequently, she sang a series of works by Mozart for the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf under M° Zoltan Pesko.
She took part in the “Festival Euro Mediterraneo” in Roma with Nerone by P. Mascagni, making her debut in the role of Egloge conducted by Tamas Pál. She was Gilda in the performance of Rigoletto at the Teatro Teresa Carreno of Caracas. Furthermore, she interpreted Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte at the Teatro Argentina of Rome, alongside R. Panerai.
She won the “Iris Adami Corradetti” competition at the Teatro Verdi of Padua, won the second prize at the “Concorso Voci Verdiane” of Busseto in April 2003, and was awarded the First Prize in the 2003 edition of “OPERALIA”, the international singing competition devised and sponsored by Placido Domingo.
In October 2003 she gained a huge success by interpreting the difficult role of Mina in Verdi’s AROLDO at the Teatro Comunale of Piacenza (a production by the ‘Fondazione Arturo Toscanini’, staged by Pierluigi Pizzi, with DVD-production); in December 2003 she did her debut in the role of Adalgisa in NORMA at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt (Austria), where she also received the medal from the Staatsoper of Vienna as best young singer of the year. In 2004 she did her debut at the Teatro La Scala of Milan in Bellini’s Beatrice di Tenda (Agnese), at the Teatro Regio in Parma with Verdi’s IL CORSARO (Gulnara), and at the Los Angeles Opera with Ilia in Mozart’s Idomeneo re di Creta under Kent Nagano and alongside Placido Domingo. She was Fiordiligi once again in a Cosi Fan Tutte production at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt and in October she took part in the “Buon Compleanno Verdi” concert at the Teatro Regio of Parma, where in November she was also given the “Tosi Award” for best breakthrough artist in its 2003/2004 season.
For 2005 she is already confirmed for a debut as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (alongside Ruggero Raimondi/Don Giovanni and Erwin Schrott/Leporello) produced by Giorgio Strehler at the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari.
In June 2005 the Artist recorded in Rome for Sony Classical Edgar by Puccini, with Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, Placido Domingo tenor, Marianne Cornetti mezzo, Juan Pons baritone, Rafael Siwek bass, conducted by Alberto Veronesi.
