Dudziak Urszula

Urszula Dudziak is a foremost artist of contemporary singing.

Urszula Dudziak's amazing vocal range and innovative style have captivated audiences worldwide. In the seventies she arrived from Poland to New York and triumphed as a soloist in famed jazz violinist Michael Urbaniak's group, touring the USA and Canada. She has been featured as a major recording artist on over forty albums (on Columbia, Atlantic, and Arista labels among others). Her rendering of "Papaya" on Arista records, sold over a quarter of a million copies.
She recorded with the Gil Evans Orchestra, the Vienna Art Orchestra, Herbie Hancock, Jaco Pastorius, Bob James, Peter Erskine, Randy Bernsen, Omar Hakim, Michael and Randy Brecker, Marcus Miller, Kevin Eubanks, Flora Purim, Airto Moreira, Joe Henderson, George Duke, Ron Carter, Bobby McFerrin and many others.

For some time now Urszula Dudziak has been perfecting Future Talk, a solo performance using sophisticated electronic techniques that blend her musical heritage with adventurous explorations into new domains of composition and sound. This daring tour de force was greeted with standing ovations in Europe as well as the Gala Memorial Concert in tribute to Thelonius Monk at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., an event hosted by Bill Cosby and Debbie Allen. Other guests included Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie Clark Terry, Ron Carter, Wynton and Brandford Marsalis.

Since 1996 , Urszula has been working with the prestigious Vienna Art Orchestra. She joined the band for a tour in Asia. Their 20ffi anniversary concert tour in 1997, which was filmed and released on Video and CD, included over 70 performances in Europe and Canada. The most recent European Tour with Vienna Art Orchestra called "Artistry in Rhythm" (Spring 2000) was recorded and released in January 2001. Urszula produced her solo album "The Painted Bird" and released the album "To i Hola" in duet with another singer Grazyna Auguscik. Recently, (January 2002) Urszula released her newest CD "And life goes on.."which is a compilation of her best recordings.
Throughout her illustrious career Urszula Dudziak's unique talent has been critically acclaimed. She can be found in most Jazz Encyclopedias.
