Mr Gangestad is the winner of the 2005 Fritz and Lavinia Jensen Foundation Voice Competition and the recipient of the Robert Lauch Memorial Grant from the Wagner Society of New York. In the season 2000/01, he appeared at the Glimmerglass Opera, the Seattle Opera and made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera (as Servant in A. Berg’s Lulu). In the 2001/02 season, he sang Colline in La Boheme with the New York City Opera i in Don Carlos at the Metropolitan Opera and the Seattle Opera. He also appeared on the latter stage as Alidoro in La Cenerentola with the Opera’s Young Artists Program. Later seasons bought performances at major opera theatres of America and concerts in Europe, including those with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Jamesa Levine as Brander in La Damnation de Faust in Bostonie and at the Carnegie Hall; it is in that role that he appears during the Beethoven Festival in Warsaw (2007). Andrew Gangestad also performs numerous oratorios and concertos, most recently Tan Duna Theatre Orchestral II: Re and Mozart’s Coronation Mass. He has appeared with the Yakima Symphony Orchestra in their Opera Gala Concerts; Duluth/Superior Symphony Orchestra; State College Chorale Society and the Minnesota Orchestra.
