Guy Riki

Born in Israel, Riki Guy graduated the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in 1997.
Master classes and private coaching include work with professional such as William Woodruff, Joan Dorneman, Ileana Cotrubas, Silvia Sass, Vera Roja, Mignon Dunn, Renata Scotto, Diana Soviero, Gabriel Bacquier, Eliane Manchet and Sherrill Milnes.
Scholarships and awards include the Israel Vocal Arts Institute scholarships from 1996-2002, America - Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships from 1993-2002. Other important awards include two New Israeli Opera awards: the ”Basser” Prize in 1999 and the ”Grebov” Prize in 2000.
Operatic credits for Ms. Guy include Bizet’s Carmen (Micaela) at the Aalto Theatre Essen, at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and at the New Israeli Opera, Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Giulietta) at the Leipzig Opera House, La Boheme (Mimi) at the Volkstheater Rostock, Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Antonia) at the International Vocal Arts Institute, Peter Grimes (Second Niece), Bach’s St. Mattheus Passion (First Soprano), L´incoronazione di Poppea (Pallade, Venus), Alfa and Omega (Angel, Nurse), all at the New Israeli Opera, Suor Angelica (Angelica), L’elisir d’amore (Adina), La Boheme (Musetta) and L’enfant et les Sortileges (Princess) at the International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel-Aviv.

Ms. Guy has appeared with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert version of Hensel & Gretel (Gretel), Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Magic Flute (Pamina).

Other roles in Ms.Guy’s repertoire include Dido and Aneas (Dido)at the Music days Festival in Israel, Concert and oratorio engagements included Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Lobgesang with the Bochum Symphonic, concert of several works with the Staatsorchester Kassel, Stabat Mater of Pergolesi with the Beer- Sheva Sinfonietta, Bach Arias with IPO and a recital in the Negev Festival.

In 2001 Ms. Guy has performed in an aria concert at the Maggio Musicale Festival in Firenze.
Opera and concert engagements in 2003-2004 included Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Giulietta) at the Leipzig Opera, and Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Antonia) at Graz opera house.
Ms. Guy has appeared with conductors such as Gary Bertini, Stefan Soltesz, Asher Fish, Claude Schnitzler, Harry Bicket, Christoph Spering, Giuliano Carella, Mendi Rodan and Stanly Sperber.

In the year 2000, Ms. Guy has won First Prize at the Vera Roja Vocal Competition, and later that year she won First Prize in the “Lions” Vocal Competition, both in Israel. That same year, Ms. Guy has won the Special Prize granted by the Chairman of the jury of the Romeo et Juliette competition in Budapest.
In the year 2001 Ms. Guy has won the First Prize in the opera category, at the International Vocal Competition in Marmande and in the year 2002 Ms. Guy has won the International Media Prize, the Prize of the Chambre Professionnelle des directeurs d’opera and the special prize of the opera Leipzig at the Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition held in Vienna.
