Georg Hamann
Georg Hamann studied the violin with Klaus Maetzl and the viola with Hatto Beyerle, both members of the Alban Berg Quartet. He is the first solo viola player of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra. He taught at the Musikhochschule in Hannover, he teaches chamber music at the University of Music in Vienna and viola at the Johann Sebastian Bach Music School Vienna. He also gives master classes in violin, viola and chamber music in Austria and Japan. As a violinist (modern violin & baroque violin) as well as a violist, the artist is invited to renowned festivals including the Festival Wien Modern, the Styriarte Graz, the Edinburgh Festival, Woodstock Mozart Festival, Menuhin Festival Gstaad.
For ten years Georg Hamann was a member of the Arcus Ensemble Vienna, and toured in Japan, the USA and several countries in Europe; he also gave regular performances at the Wiener Konzerthaus.
In 1998 Georg Hamann formed the renowned Aron Quartet with the violinists Ludwig Mueller and Barna Kobori and the cellist Christophe Pantillon.
As a chamber musician he has played with Philippe Entremont, Oleg Maisenberg, Bruno Canino, Christian Tetzlaff, Ernst Kovacic, Erich Höbarth, Boris Pergamenschikow, Alois Brandhofer, members of the Alban Berg Quartet.
