Henri Sigfridsson, a laureate of the 2nd Prize and the Audience Prize at the Géza Anda Piano Competition in Zurich (2000), was born in Turku, Finland (1974). He studied at the Conservatory there with Sävy Nordgren and then at Helsinki’s Sibelius Academy with Prof. Erik Tawaststjerna, Weimar’s Franz Liszt Musikhochschule with Prof. Lazar Berman and Cologne’s Musikochschule Köln with Prof. Pavel Gililov, where he graduated with honours. Henri Sigfridsson also won the prestigious Finnish Culture AVOA Award, and first prizes at the International Piano Competition in Weimar (1994) and at the Nordic Soloist Competition (1995).
Henri Sigfridsson appears in duos with such eminent artists as Sol Gabetta, Leonidas Kavakos, Gidon Kremer, Ivry Gitlis, Massimo Quarta, Patricia Kopatchinskaya, Michel Lethiec. He played solo concerts with leading Finnish, European and Japanese orchestras, with conductors such as Georg Alexander Albrecht, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Beat Furrer, Dennis Russel Davies, Lawrence Foster, Howard Shelley or Volker Schmidt-Gertenbach.
