Simona Houda-Šaturová was born in Bratislava (Slovakia). She obtained her vocal education at the Conservatory and later with Ileana Cotrubas in Vienna.
She has appeared as a guest on the following stages: Teatro Colon (Buenos Aires), Theatre du Chatelet (Paris), Opera de Monte-Carlo, Megaron (Athens) and in Japan. She is a regular guest at the National Theatre and the State Opera in Prague. She was awarded the 2001 Thálie award for the best operatic performance for the role of Giulietta (Bellini, I Capuleti e i Montecchi).
Her repertoire includes Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Gilda (Rigoletto), Oscar (Un Ballo in Maschera), Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Adele (Die Fledermaus), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte).
Simona Houda-Saturova is also a sought-after concert singer and she performs at renowned festivals. She has recorded for Supraphon, Orfeo, Classico and Carus Verlag. The last recording that she participated in, 2005's Requiem & Miserere from Johann Adolf Hasse, received the “Preis der Deutschen Schallplatten Kritik” award from German critics.
