Stefanie Irányi
Stefanie Irányi started studying singing at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich (2006); she attended master classes of Helmut Deutsch, Sara Walker, Sena Jurinac and Christa Ludwig. She is a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and was a prize winner of the Deutschen Buehnenverein in 2000.
As a student she appeared at the Markgraeflichen Opernhaus in Bayreuth and at the Cuvillies Theater in Munich. She holds prizes from competitions in Zwickau, Munich, and the first prize in the Federal Song Competition (2004).
She is a valued singer of oratoria by Bach, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Dvorak which she has performed with the Bamberger Symphoniker, and also in Munich under the direction of Helmut Rilling and Peter Schreier. Her opera repertoire for mezzosoprano includes Agostino Steffani's Alarico (in Munich), Menotti's Consul and Mozart's Idomeneo (in Torino).
She gives song recitals with Helmut Deutsch in Barcelona, Schubertiade Vilabertran, Wigmore Hall, Geneva, Konzerthaus Wien. Her discography includes recordings of Dvorak's Requiem, Simon Mayr's The Marriage of Tobias, as well as CDs with lieder and duets by Schumann and Brahms.
