Jansen Rudolf

Rudolf Jansen was born in Arnhem, Netherlands. He studied piano, harpsichord and organ at the same time at the Amsterdam Sweelinck Conservatory and received 2 times the ‘Prix d’Excellence’ for piano and organ. Concentrating more and more on the piano only, he has specialized in the art. Of accompaniment.
Rudolf Jansen gives concert-tours around the world with most distinguished artists including Elly Ameling, Irina Arkhipova, Olaf Bär, Hans-Peter Blochwitz, Brigitte Fassbaender, Robert Holl, Tom Krause, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Edith Wiens, Andreas Schmidt and his teacher Dietrich Ficher-Dieskau.
He made numerous recordings recently with Dietrich Ficher-Dieskau and the Netherlands Chamber Choir Liszt (German Schallplattenpreis 1992), the 3 great Lieder-cycles of Schubert with Andreas Schmidt on Deutsche Grammophon, and in the same year he completed a series of 7 CD’s on Victoria (Oslo, Norway) with four singers in the complete songs of Edward Grieg.
Other records have been made for CBS, EMI, Philips, Erato, Etcetera, BMG. Rudolf Jansen holds a professorship for Lied-accompaniment at the Sweelinck Conservatory Amsterdam. He gave Master Classes in the U.S.A., Canada, Japan, Germany, Austria, Italy, Finland and the Netherlands.
