Izabella Kłosińska
Soprano. The top soloist of the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw. She has performed in numerous opera productions singing, among many others, the parts of Roxana in Szymanowski's Król Roger, Micaëla in Bizet's Carmen, Nedda in Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Mimì and Musetta in Puccini's La Bohème, Hanna in Moniuszko's The Haunted Manor, Liù in Puccini's Turandot, Countess Almaviva in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Violetta Valery in Verdi's La Traviata, Eve in Penderecki's Paradise Lost, Marguerite in Gounod's Faust. She also successfully performs soprano parts in oratorios and cantatas such as Stabat Mater by Dvořák, Szymanowski and Pergolesi, Mozart's Great Mass in C minor, Verdi's Requiem, Bach's Magnificat, Penderecki's Dies irae and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
She was a soloist in European premiere of Penderecki's Seven Gates of Jerusalem in Warsaw Philharmonic. In July 1997, she performed in London in Mozart's Requiem with London Chamber Orchestra. In December 1997, she performed in Simon Boccanegra by Verdi, singing the part of Amelia in Teatr Wielki in Warsaw.
The artist often gives recitals, both in Poland and abroad. She has made guest appearances in Germany (Hanover, Dortmund, Hamburg – in Mozart's Requiem conducted by Hans-Martin Schneidt), Great Britain (awarded II prize in Cardiff Eurovision in Glasgow), Switzerland (Zurich, Bern – Beethoven's Ninth Symphony). She has repeatedly participated in Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music and Wratislavia Cantans Festival.
Izabella Kłosińska has achieved significant international success. She has participated in a renowned concerto interpretation of Berlioz's opera Les Troyens in Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and later in American productions of Król Roger in Buffalo and Detroit (Michigan Opera Theatre – spring 1992). In autumn 1992 she sang in La Traviata during the opening ceremony of a new opera house in Daegu in South Korea.
She also has a number records, radio and TV performances to her credit. She recorded most of Penderecki's works on CDs and DVDs. In January 2006, together with a cellist, Tomasz Strahl, she recorded De Profundis composed by Anna Jastrzębska. In 2006, her recording of Penderecki's Polish Requiem conducted by Antoni Wit was announced the best recording of contemporary music by a Japanese music magazine, “Geijutsu” and awarded Record Academy Award 2005.
