Kobori Barna

Barna Kobori was born in Romania and has lived in Vienna since 1986. He began his violin studies at the age of five, and graduated from a music college in Cluj (Romania) in 1984. For two years he was assistant concert master of the Brasov Philharmonic Orchestra, also appearing as a soloist. In 1986 he joined the Hungarian State Orchestra in Budapest and was admitted to the Liszt Academy. One year later he began his studies at the Vienna University of Music with Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet) and became the third concert master of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra. He became an orchestra soloist in 1996. He has worked with great conductors including Philippe Entremont, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Sándor Végh, Sir Neville Marriner, Heinz Holliger and went on many tours in Europe, USA, Japan and South America.
In 1998 he formed the Aron Quartett with Ludwig Mueller, Georg Hamann and Christophe Pantillon and became an associate of the Royal College of Music in London.
