Lichtenstein Romelia

Romelia Lichtenstein was born in Sofia and studied with Helga Forner at the Leipzig School of Music. She won the 1st prize at a competition in Gera as well all the Mozart award of the Francisco Vinas International Singing Contest in Barcelona. She was a soloist of the Leipzig Opera (Queen of the Night), later of the Halle Opera (appearing in operas by Donizetti, Verdi, Mozart, Bellini, Haendel).
She often performs in chamber music concerts, sings oratoria, appears on TV with a varied repertoire. She has made guest appearances with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, in Aachen, Goeteborg, Madrid, Leipzig, Dresden, Stockholm and Salzburg. She also regularly performs in Weimar, Wiesbaden, Karlsruhe, Cologne and at the comic Opera of Berlin. Her latest CD was awarded the quarterly prize of the “Deutsche Schallplattenkritik”.
