Łykowski Piotr

He completed with honours his vocal training at the Academy of Music in Wrocław with Professor Eugeniusz Sąsiadek (1989). At the Third Ada Sari Vocal Art Competition in Nowy Sącz he was awarded the first prize and received three honourable mentions (1988). He perfected his skills at master courses in musical interpretation, e.g. with Paul Esswood, Richard Wistreich and Nelli Anfuso.
He specializes in Renaissance and Baroque music, and his repertoire comprises around one hundred parts. He collaborates with many old music ensembles, philharmonics and opera theatres, e.g. with Warsaw Chamber Opera, opera theatres in Warsaw, Łódz, Poznań, Wrocław, and the Silesian Opera in Bytom. He appeared in the Polish premieres of C. Monteverdi operas (Orpheus, Return of Ulysses, Coronation of Poppaea), as well as in Paradise Lost by K. Penderecki and Akhnaten by Ph. Glass. Stage parts were written specially for him in the original plays by J. Grzegorzewski: Złowiony (Fished out), Sonata epileptyczna (Epileptic Sonata) and Jagogogo... to the music by S. Radwan. He took part in the recording of music for the film De Aegypto and for the Requiem for my Friend by Z. Preisner.
He has made numerous recordings for radio and television as well as disc recordings (Euridice by J. Peri, Completorium by G.G. Gorczycki, Vocal Concerts by M. Mielczewski, Passion by J. Elsner, Messiah by G.F. Handel).
For over a dozen years he has run a solo singing class at the Academy of Music in Wrocław.
