
Studied at the Music Academies in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. Winner of numerous scholarships and laureate of Francesco Viñas International Vocal Competition in Barcelona.
In the years 2001-07 he has been a member of the National Theatre Mannheim, where he developed his repertoire with roles such as Marcello in La Bohème, Wolfram in Tannhäuser, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Heerrufer in Lohengrin as well as the title roles in Don Giovanni and Wozzek.
In the summer 2007 he made his very successful debut at the Bayreuth Festival as Kothner in Die Meistersinger.
Markus Eiche began 2007/08 season as a member of Vienna Staatsoper, where he will sing Conte Almaviva in Le Nozze Di Figaro (Tour of China), Marcello (La Bohème), Jeletzki (Pique Dame), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), Albert (Werther), Lescaut (Manon) and Fritz/Frank (Die Tote Stadt). He performed in Teatro alla Scala, at the Biennale in Munich , at Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam, Grand Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Komische Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, Prague Opera, the Lucerne Oper and in Stuttgart.
Cooperated with artists such as: Kent Nagano, Bertrand de Billy, Kirill Petrenko, Zoltan Pesko, Gustav Kuhn, Ingo Metzmacher, Harry Bicket, Carlos Spierer, Christophe Rousset, Stefan Asbury, Christoph von Dohnányi, Helmuth Rilling, Marin Alsop, Sebastian Weigle, Gustav Kuhn, Adam Fischer and Enrico Dovico.
Markus Eiche is a highly acclaimed concert singer, he cooperates closely with Helmuth Rilling. He recorded Schubert’s lieder and Orff’s Carmina burana (Naxos).
