Romanian born pianist Cristina Marton is an artist of international stature. Prizewinner in International Competitions such as Arthur Schnabel Competition in Berlin, Geza Anda Competition in Zürich, Clara Schumann Competition in Düsseldorf, Mozart Competition in Salzburg and the First "Martha Argerich" International Piano Competition in Buenos Aires, she has performed worldwide in major concerts halls, including the Berliner Philharmonie, Berliner Konzerthaus, Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Opernhaus Zürich, Herkulessaal München, Taipei National Hall, Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires, Mozarteum Salzburg, Atheneum Bucharest, Auditorio Manuel de Falla Granada, Beethoven Haus Bonn.
Cristina Marton has appeared extensively as soloist with orchestras such as the Orchestre della Svizzera-Italiana, Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, Dortmunder Philarmoniker, Orchester der Oper Zürich, Berliner Symphoniker, Temesvarer Philharmoniker, Orquesta del Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Argentina, Augsburger Philharmoniker, Orchester Baden-Baden, Würtembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn, Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia, Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg.
She has collaborated with distinguished conductors such as Sandor Vegh, James Judd, Dennis Russel Davies, Jörg Faerber, Christoph Poppen…
Cristina Marton performed at Schlesvig-Holstein Music Festival, Festival d’Echternach Luxemburg, Klavierfestival Ruhr, Martha Argerich Project Lugano, Music for Galway Ireland, International Festival Kyoto, Festival en Blanco y Negro Mexico City, Spoleto Festival USA,International Martha Argerich Festival in Taipei, etc.
Together with her piano duo partner, Aglaia Bätzner, she has won the first prize in the Murray Dranoff Two Piano Competition in Miami, USA and the first prize in the Chamber Music Competition in Caltanisseta, Italy and they mantain a busy concert schedule all over the world on two pianos, one piano four hands and with orchestra.
Cristina Marton has studied at the Berliner Hochschule Hans Eisler with Prof. Georg Sava. She also received musical advice from the best contemporary pianists: Christian Zacharias, Leon Fleischer, Martha Argerich, Dmitri Bashkirov, Stephen Kovacevich, Andras Schiff, Radu Lupu and Alfred Brendel.
Pianist Martha Argerich has invited Cristina to several of her International Festivals like the "Martha Argerich and Friends Festivals in Pescara 2000, Taipei 2001, Lugano 2002, Buenos Aires 2003 – where Cristina Marton performed on two pianos with Martha Argerich.
Recent and future presentations include concerts in St.Petesburg, Bucharest, Festival Echternach in Luxembourg, National Symphonic Orchestra of Chile, Orquestra Sinfônica Nacional do Brazil, Berliner Philharmonic Recital, etc.
