
Born in Zabrze, Poland, in 1962, he graduated with honours from Prof. Katlewicz’s conducting class at the Kraków Academy of Music in 1988. In 1987, he became assistant choirmaster and, in 1989, conductor and choirmaster, of the mixed choir of the Kraków Philharmonic. He led his choir at numerous festivals in Poland and abroad, including Wratislavia Cantans, Łańcut Festival of Music, Gaude Mater in Częstochowa, Warsaw Autumn, Music in Old Kraków, Festival de Musique de La Chaise-Dieu, Berliner Festwoche, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Europaeischer Musik Festival in Berlin, Festival de Berlioz, collaborating with many eminent conductors.
He attended courses and seminars, including those of Prof. Helmuth Rilling (Bachakademie Stuttgart, Internationalen Dirigentenseminar Leipzig); he also received a scholarship of the Oregon Bach Festival, Eugen, USA. In 1989, he received a City of Kraków scholarship for Young Creative Talents.
He is Assistant Professor at the Department of Composing, Directing and Musical Theory at the Academy of Music in Kraków.
