Christophe Pantillon
Christophe Pantillon studied the violoncello at the Music Academy of Basel with Heinrich Schiff, in Vienna with Valentin Erben, in Manchester with Ralph Kirshbaum and in Siena during master class with Mischa Maisky. In 1991 he received the “John Barbirolli Prize for the Cello“ in Manchester. He was solo cello player of the Wiener Kammerphilharmonie, principal cellist of the Wiener VolksoperWiener Kammerphilharmonie. In 1995 he made his debut as soloist at the Musikvereinssaal in Beethoven’s Triple Concerto. He is an extremely active chamber musician, in 1998 he founded Aron Quartet at the Arnold Schoenberg Center Vienna. He gives violoncello and chamber music master classes in Tokyo, Chicago, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Greece, Spain and Austria. He has performed as soloist and chamber musician in Vienna, Salzburg, Zürich, Tokyo, Prague, New York, London, Paris, Moscow. He has appeared at festivals such as the Menuhin Festival, the Styriarte Graz, the Wien Modern, the International String Quartet Festival in Prague, the Mahler Fest Kassel, Aix-en-Musique, Mostly Music Chicago.
