Sofia Soloviy

Sofia Soloviy completed her musical studies at the Lyssenko Academy of Music in her hometown Lviv (Ukraine), graduating from the departments of piano, musicology and vocal studies. She moved to Italy where she attended prestigious Academies: Chigiana (Siena), Osimo and Pesaro studying with Gustav Kuhn, W. Matteuzzi, A. Zedda, Gianluigi Gelmetti, S. Segalini and Raina Kabaivanska.
Recently, she was awarded First Prize and Audience Prize in Viotti, Vercelli.
She sung the operatic roles of: Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Carmela in Giordano’s Mese Mariano, Elisetta in Cimarosa’s Matrimonio segreto (in Teatro La Fenice), Rosalia in Rossini’s Equivoco stravagante (in Bad Wildbad and Strasbourg), Teolinda in Mayerbeer’s Gli amori di Teolinda, Gennariello in Gomes’ Salvator Rosa, Idamantes in Mozart-Strauss’ Idomeneo, Salome in Strauss’ Salome (Festival della Valle d’Itria, Italy), Contessa in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with performances in Seoul, Korea; Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte in Siena.
At the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, she sung in Tancredi, in Semiramide and in Le nozze di Figaro. At the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo she sung in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena.
She worked with famous conductors such as: Gianluigi Gelmetti, Maurizio Benini, Frans Brueggen, Gabriele Ferro.
She recorded: Salvator Rosa by Gomes with Maestro Benini, Stabat Mater by Boccherini with Christopher Franklin, Il ritorno di Ulisse in patria by Monteverdi, and Idomeneo by Mozart-Strauss with Corrado Rovaris.
