Stojkovic Johanna

Johanna Stojkovic was born in Passau and gained her first stage experience before beginning her studies. From 1989-1996 she studied in Hamburg with Judith Beckmann, and has worked with Ron Murdock since 1999.
While still a student she made guest appearances at opera houses including the Hamburg State Opera, in Bremen, Rostock and Schwerin.
From 1996-1999 she was engaged by the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam, where she primarily sang roles from the Baroque and early Classical repertoire. At the same time she also appeared at the Komische Oper in Berlin. Since 1999 she has worked as a freelance artist.
During the 2001/2002 season she sang the roles of Susanna, Ännchen, Marie in Lortzing´s Zar und Zimmermann, the Young Shepherd in Tannhäuser and one of the Flower Maidens in Parsifal at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden. She worked with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Sebastian Weigle, Michael Gielen and Philippe Jordan.
In addition to opera she also continues to pursue a strong interest in so-called "early music" and has appeared with ensembles including Concerto Köln, the Akademie für Alte Musik and Capella Coloniensis, under René Jacobs, Philippe Herreweghe, Bruno Weil and Marcus Creed.
She has recorded several CDs, including Weber´s Freischütz under Bruno Weil, cantatas and arias of the early Baroque composer C. Kittel under René Jacobs and Haydn´s Cantatas for the House of Esterházy as well as an opera by J. F. Reichardt under Andreas Spering. Weber´s Abu Hassan under Bruno Weil and Handel´s Imeneo under Andreas Spering will be released in the near future.
Upcoming engagements include concerts and opera appearances in Germany and abroad, such as a tour with the Stuttgart Bach Academy under Helmuth Rilling (J.S. Bach St. Matthew Passion) and concerts with CD productions (Handel Siroe).
