Deutsches Streichtrio The trio, which has been in existence now for more than 25 years, is one of the leading chamber music ensembles in Germany. Numbers the Deutscher Schallplattenpreis among the many awards it has won over the years. There have also been international concert performances and appearances at the most important festivals and master classes in Europe, America and Asia as well as numerous radio and television productions. Its discography covers all the major works in the string trio repertoire. Hans Kalafusz Hans Kalafusz was born in The Hague. He studied in Heidelberg, Mannheim (with Professor Ringelberg) and Prague (master class with Professor Schweyda). He began his career at the age of only 20 as the first concertmaster of Stuttgart`s Radio Symphony Orchestra. Concert tours around the world, performances on radio and television, and recordings as a soloist (with famous conductors such as Celibidache, Solti, Münchinger, and Marriner) have made him familiar to music listeners throughout the world. His love of chamber music led him to found the Deutsches Streichtrio; his desire to pass his wideranging knowledge on to others led him to accept a professorship at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart. His numerous awards include the Edison Prize and the German Order of Merit, Violin - Pietro Guarneri, Mantua, 1699 Jürgen Weber Jürgen Weber received his musical education from Prof. Igor Ozim (Cologne) and Prof. Ulrich Koch (Freiburg). In Freiburg he completed the soloist class with distinction. Weber won several national and international competitions, including the International ARD Competition 1973 in Munich as part of the Robert Schumann Quartet. In 1975 he received a Federal Award from the German Music Council and was awarded a special prize by the State of Hessen. Since 1977 Weber has been the Solo Violist in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich. In addition, he has made a name for himself through his active involvement with chamber music, soloist engagements throughout the world, as well as numerous recordings and television performances. For several years now, Weber has also been active as an editor with prestigious music publishers. Jürgen Weber is Professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich Viola - Lorenzo Storioni, Cremona, 1780. Reiner Ginzel Reiner Ginzel began his musical education with Professor Grosch at the Dresden Academy of Music. He concluded his studies with a soloist diploma. Then he further refined his skills in Moscow with Professor Shokhovskaya, M. Rostropovich`s successor. Prizes from national and international competitions followed. From 1975 to 1978, Ginzel was First Cellist in the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and from 1979 to 1986 he performed in the same capacity with the Southwest German Radio-Symphony Orchestra. In 1986, he received a professorship at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich. Since then he has also been active as an editor with prestigious music publishers and has been a juror at international competitions.
