„...Poland's youngest professional symphonic orchestra, the Beethoven Academy Orchestra is composed of people of passion: the best students and graduates of European academies of music including Kraków Academy of Music, Staatliche Hochschule Für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart, Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe, Royal Music Conservatoire in Brussels, Conservatoire International de Musique in Paris, and Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz.
The ensemble began its operation in 2003, following the successes at the 53rd Jünger Künstler Festival in Bayreuth. In 2005, thanks to Elżbieta Penderecka, Beethoven Academy Orchestra had their début during the 9th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw, where they won fantastic reviews and obtained invitations to numerous prestigious festivals in Poland and abroad. In the same year, the ensemble released its first studio recording (DUX) of Polish music.
From the earliest days of the ensemble, it has been in the artistic and administrative care of Marcin Klejdysz, a graduate of Kraków Academy of Music and student of Robert Kabara. Beethoven Academy Orchestra works under eminent conductors, whose number includes Krzysztof Penderecki, Maciej Tworek, Paweł Przytocki, Marek Pijarowski, Łukasz Borowicz and Fausto Nardi, and with soloists of the young generation: Wojciech Pławner, Łukasz Długosz, So-Ock Kim, Bartosz Koziak, Katarzyna Duda, Iwona Sobotka, Małgorzata Pańko, Rafał Bartmiński, Jan Krzeszowiec and others. To this day, the Orchestra has released six records on such labels as DUX Poland, Centaur Reccord USA, Le Foxx Music, and Universal Music. During 2009 the ensemble have already had the opportunity to perform with Steven Isserlis (cello) and Konstantin Sherbakov (piano). Orchestra was invited to play in Musikverein in September 2009.
Currently Beethoven Academy Orchestra gives concerts in Poland and abroad, making a tour promoting Polish music (the cycle Jeszcze polska muzyka). In 2010 the ensemble appeared again at the Young Euro Classics Festival in Berlin. Thanks to a new initiative “Comarch Young Europe Experience 2010” they performed also in prestigious German concert halls such as: Alte Oper Frankfurt, Konzerthaus Dortmund and Gesteig Munich.
Orkiestra Akademii Beethovenowskiej is represented by Ludwig van Beethoven Association.
