The context of financial help for the orphanage
in Cholpon Ata by Issy Kull lake in Kyrgyzstan

The initiator of the action is Emponi-Art Foundation which has been present in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for the last two years. The foundation organizes concerts, cultural events and is very active at charity field raising money for help for children – it is help for music schools and orphanages and restoration of the theatre.
The director of the Austrian headquarters of Kindersdorf (www.sos-kindersdorf.at) has asked the Foundation to organize charity actions in Germany and in Poland – with the help of volunteers and the Beethoven Academy Orchestra.

KINDERSDORF Cholpon Ata
Its branch in Kyrgyzstan was established in 2002 thanks to the help of its Austrian headquarters. The basis of existing of such orphanages come from Austria. Within the last few years many such institutions have been set up all over the world. The idea of the orphanages is to create optimum “home conditions” for children. To carry out this idea Herr Gmeyer began to built the structure of the town of houses for orphans right after the Second World War. Each house is inhabited by eight children and „Mama”, a woman which takes care of children and brings them up. The orphanages organize educational events for children: music, painting, dance and language workshops, etc..

Funds
All SOS-KIDNERSDORF institutions are financed by their headquarters in Austria. As the net of these institutions is very wide-spread, the finance help is limited to covering the salaries of the employees of each branch and to providing them with the most important needs such as food.
Each institution is forced to find money for the rest of its expenses such as orphanages equipment, clothes, toys, trips and organizing educational workshops for children. There are two SOS-KIDNERSDORF institutions in Kyrgyzstan - one in the capital and the other one in the country in Cholpon Ata which has very poor administrational back. Luck of funds drastically limits children’s needs such as workshops e.g..

Why to help Kyrgyzstan?
The country itself has no perspectives to find any financial support for charity projects and the SOS-KIDNERSDORF headquarters in Austria is not able to assign enough money for these goals. Economical crash, political revolution taking place in April this year as well as faulty public budget make Kyrgyzstan unable to be involve in supporting charity institutions. The only chance is the help from outside!
